Circles of Honor

WHAT
Invitation to Create your circle of HONOR

WHO
Native American Indian Honor Day www.honorday.org
"Transforming the world, by invitation, through HONOR"

In the collective experience, for the well being of all people, circles are being formed around the world. Creating a living prayer that says we are for each other. The purpose is to bring humankind together, honoring and bearing witness to human magnificence, using our skills, gifts and talents to build a life we love, in a world we love to live in.

CREATE
To affiliate your "CIRCLE OF HONOR" with the Native American Indian Honor Day Great Circle Ceremony we ask you to use the circle of life template as it serves all living things. It is a circle of perfect balance (light and dark) (hot and cold) It is meant to be personalized by you.

HOW TO
We tear yellow, red, black, and white cotton strips about 1" wide and about 12" long, we tie them to small cedar branches. We lay them out in a circle. You might use plants, rocks etc to designate the 4 cardinal directions.

CIRCLE OF HONOR
(Yellow) in the EAST for daytime sunshine.
(West) is black as that is nighttime and we have a template of Perfect balance.

NORTH is white representing snow and cold
SOUTH is represented by red and heat for a template of Perfect balance.

The circle is designed to inspire. At 11:30 on any day you choose you may invite your guests to use song, dance, art, poetry, music, etc. to share higher ideas for humanity. When that is complete walk the outside of the circle together in silence. After everyone has walked the circle they may stand inside the circle and speak out in Honor of something

Your circle may be as simple as making a circle with your arms and singing a song or making a prayer. You may invite family and friends to make a larger circle, or you may want to gather at the park and open it to the public.

The prayer ties may be gathered by the participants after the ceremony to use as their personal incense or touch point for the coming year or you may burn them to complete the work.

SEND us pictures and text of your "Circle of Honor" ceremony for our website.
